Good News on the repair of the cracks and chips on our courts: We’ve been told by the Laguna Niguel City Maintenance Dept. that a contractor has been retained & will begin repairs during the month of November. When we have the exact dates, we’ll let you know because it will require that the courts to be closed for a period of 3 days. (You will have the 4 courts available at the LN Regional Park during that time frame.)
We would like to thank Lonnie Kojima for his continued teaching of beginners & advanced beginners. He also is instrumental in the purchase of a solar power
system so that the Tutor Ball Machine & leaf blower batteries can be charged on site. Lonnie was recently invited to join the Steering Committee of CV Pickleball.
Thanks go to Janice Vela & Cindy Dopf for their assistance to Bill Smith in teaching the
4th & 5th grade students of CV Elementary School. They teach every Mon & Fri during the students’ P.E. class time, from 1:15 – 2:00 pm.
Novice Round Robin Doubles Tournament: If you are a beginner, advanced beginner, novice, or rated at 2.0 or 2.5 skill level, this tournament is for YOU! Saturday, November 21, 9:00 am – Noon. Entries are available at the sign-in table, or print the attachment.
Volunteering to host at Crown Valley is a chance to greet old friends & meet new players, and learn their names! Volunteering also involves making everyone feel comfortable as they come to play at CV. Clean courts, new Pickleballs, sometimes a special treat, & lots of great competition are always part of our gracious hospitality.
Please do YOUR part, as a member of CV, to volunteer at least one day each month.
Check the calendar at the table, sign up & then show up for this unique privilege.
Tutorial on Tutor (Ball Machine) offered by Bill Smith: Friday, November 20, 11:00 am – noon. Come & learn how to use the ball machine to assist you in improving your game.
On Friday, Oct 30 the Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem, & the Director of Parks & Recreation of the City of Lake Forest came to play Pickleball at CVPB. They were very impressed with our facility, the level of activity, and LOVED playing the game. They were on a fact- finding trip to determine if PB could be added to their activity venues in their city. They left with a very positive attitude toward adding a public Pickleball facility in Lake Forest. Thanks go to Bob &Debi Miller and Don Stoll for arranging this outing for their civic leaders. The Millers will soon meet with city officials to look for an appropriate site on which to build dedicated courts. Thanks to all players who showed up on Friday to support this important visit by neighboring city officials.
Please keep the following Pickleball friends in your thoughts & prayers: Joe Smart,
Ron Russell, Tony Hatcher, Sandy Hunter. It’s good to see Connie Smart, Michael Serasawa, & Wendy Curb back on the courts.
